Boundless tea table
The Eastern spiritual transition does not see human and
nature as separate things but understand them through the
concept of mutual genesis, thus aspiring to submit and
assimilate to this logic. Nature, here signi es a "whole world."

simon colabufalo
metrotopia is a public transportation concept by designer simon colabufalo created for his home town of melbourne.
the southern australian city has a distinct urban setting and has the largest tram network in the world. this unique
feature provides the basis for metrotopia. rather than large buses of trams, the concept features small 2 seat vehicles
that drive on a single rubber ball for greater maneuverability.simon colabufalo: metrotopia

Ocean Moon Goddess
The sister piece to Pink Moon Goddess (posted below), Ocean Moon Goddess is in a lovely shade of celadon - that beautiful blue/green color that reminds me of the sea. Her stone is accented with shades of lavender and white...she appears to be floating in the clouds! She's available for sale on my website. Matching earrings included.

Autumn is almost here!
For me, New England living doesn't get any better than during the fall - I love everything about it! Crisp air, fireplaces, brilliant leaves, apple cider...my latest simple necklace pays tribute to the season. This was fun to make and photograph; I happened upon the background paper at a craft store yesterday - perfect! I also made some earrings from the same oak leaves. I'm going to order more as I can already see other ways to use these pretty leaves.

Beginnings
Meet Pink Moon Goddess! She's one of my recent designs that was sold to a truly lovely woman. She (and her sister piece, Ocean Moon Goddess) were a joy to create; they just came together perfectly. I will be on the hunt for more unique stones in different colors and create more of these in the future.
A #2 Pencil...
and a dream can take you anywhere.

Death of the McMansion: Could it be true?
(Photos via Cote de Texas, read her hilarious post!)
Wine rooms, media rooms, swimming pools, water fountains, tennis courts, children living two floors away from their parents, and adults constantly giving themselves away in body, mind and spirit to maintain the facade. All the while "family" turns into a thing of the past.
(More info here)
If the death of the McMansion allows children to know their parents and parents to enjoy their children and if it allows people to nourish their souls again.... then this demise can't happen soon enough for me.
This is just my
opinion of course:)

Better Words
I've been gone for a while, because I haven't been able to put words together. All the things that I begin to write down, have nothing to do with what I have been doing so I've been at a total standstill. I thought perhaps using someone else's eloquent words would be a smarter choice:)

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle - Construction & Demolition Materials
If you are planning a construction or remodeling project, there are a number of things you can do before you start:
1. Contact your local builder's association, your county solid waste department, or your state environmental agency. They will provide information on recyclers and waste haulers in your area.
2. Consider whether deconstruction techniques can be used to prepare your site for renovation or construction. In some communities, deconstruction auctions are being effectively used to move building materials into the reuse market.
3. Check with local salvagers before purchasing new products. You might be surprised to find that many of them offer cabinets, doors, windows, and flooring that are in good condition for greatly reduced prices.
4. Reuse, and Recycling of Demolition Waste (PDF). This document can assist users in determining the most feasible methods for reducing C&D debris being disposed of in landfills.
5. Donate the C&D materials that you are not planning to use to a local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity.

6. Consult the Field Guide for Residential Remodelers. This field guide prepared by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Research Center provides remodelers with information on cost-effective and voluntary construction waste management. The Remodeler's Field Guide addresses the unique aspects of remodeling, including differences in waste generation and site and work characteristics.
